Anito: Avatars of the Pearl (Designing Characters Inspired by the Natural Resources in the Philippines) is an arts-based research project that explores and examines how to capture the recognition and improve the interest of Filipino teenagers in the natural resources of the Philippines.

The artwork produced from the study was ten (10) digital illustrations of character designs that reimagine the natural resources as diwatas, who dwell in nature tourist attractions, and engkantos, that embody endemic wildlife species.
